Solent University's challenge for visual artists and designers

Solent University are pleased to announce the launch of a new student focused competition, created to celebrate undiscovered talent and provide aspiring artists, fashion designers, make-up artists and product designers with the opportunity to showcase their work.

There are three separate categories that students can enter, each with their own prizes and awards. If you think you might be interested in entering, be sure to register your interest by following the link at the bottom of this page. Further information can be obtained from your tutor.

Open to aspiring student and graduate make-up artists, this competition will provide the opportunity to showcase your creative skills in a live competition.

There are four competition categories - editorial beauty, prosthetics, character, or art and fashion - which encompass all levels of experience.

Product & interior design – ‘Focus on Eating’
Sponsored by IKEA

You will be expected to fully explore both the practice and social aspects of cooking, food preparation, eating and socialising with family and friends. Ideas should be developed into design solutions. These may vary from utensils, to furniture, to related interior/exterior environments.

IKEA are sponsoring this project, which will result in a showcase of design works and prizes at the show.

All finalists will have their work displayed in a showcase exhibition in our new ‘Spark’ building in September 2017. This includes an awards evening to celebrate the winner’s achievements.
