Biography

Dominic is a UEFA A licenced football coach. His areas of expertise are in player development and coach education, having built considerable experience at Premier League academies before becoming a lecturer in football at Southampton Solent University.

Dominic was previously an academy head coach at AFC Bournemouth and an academy performance analyst at Southampton FC. The majority of his coaching experience was gathered at Watford FC’s academy. Here, Dominic had numerous roles over a ten year association with the club, including age group head coach for U11s, U12s, U13s, U14s and U16s, and spent time as the academy head of recruitment before taking on the role of youth development phase lead coach. This role included leading the Harefield Programme, an initiative that was a key contributor to the requirements of the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP). Dominic has also contributed to the development of the Premier League’s Bio-Banding games programme.

Dominic completed Solent’s BA (Hons) Football Studies undergraduate degree as well as graduating Solent’s MSc in Athletic Development and Peak Performance with Distinction. He has graduated the Premier League’s Elite Coaches Apprenticeship Scheme (ECAS) with a Certificate in Higher Education and is a member of the League Managers Association (LMA) and the FA Licensed Coaches Club (FALCC).

Currently Dominic is combining completion of the PGCTLHE at Solent with his teaching on the Football Principles and Practice, Principles of Coaching Football and Coaching for Football units. He is unit leader for the Elite Youth Development in Football unit and Level 4 leader on the Football Studies programme.
