Gill Cashell is a course leader and lecturer in financial reporting and audit. She has nearly 30 years’ experience of lecturing and leadership in higher education and achieves consistently high student satisfaction for her modules. Gill is Solent University’s liaison for accreditation with the main UK accountancy professional bodies.
Gill is a first-time final level ACCA pass and Fellow of the Association. She is a PwC alumnus, with practical experience in both practice and industry, which informs her teaching. She has taught at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional (ACCA and CIMA) levels, and over a wide range of courses from accountancy and business to construction and sport.
Having been born and educated to further education level in Wales, Gill moved to study at higher education in Brighton, and has lived in England ever since. She is a former Welsh junior and senior international athlete (track and field), having trained with Mike Smith’s 400m group at Team Solent in Southampton.
Her hobbies include recreational running, rock climbing and scrambling, alpine mountaineering, hill walking, canoe and kayak paddling.
Gill maintains her skill set through volunteering for local charities.
