Biography

Glenda Strong draws on 13 years as a practising architect and interior designer, managing projects of up to £3 million, as well as nine years of teaching in interior design to provide energetic and creative course content. She worked for six years in Namibia, Southern Africa, she gained expertise in a variety of high-end complex large scale tourism projects.

After working in Namibia she spent a further two years in Southern California expanding her residential interior design portfolio and designing interiors for multimillion dollar luxury homes. In 2000, Glenda moved to Brisbane Australia where she established a freelance practice centred on small scale boutique residential projects.

At the same time, she began lecturing and managing integrated design studios in both architecture and interior design at Queensland University of Technology. Since arriving at Solent University in 2009, Glenda has drawn on both the professional and academic sides of her career with a focus on academic rigour, employability, and professional practice. Industry led project briefs are at the core of her approach.
