Steve Bralee is a chartered construction manager and a chartered building engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry.
After completing a mechanical engineering apprenticeship, Steve moved into building maintenance managing two 8 hectare industrial sites in the West Midlands. To further his career Steve moved to the south coast and worked as a clerk of works for a local authority whilst completing his professional qualifications for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). On completion of his professional qualifications he worked for regional and national construction contractors in both the domestic and commercial sectors of the industry.
Steve joined the University in 1989 and completed his teaching qualification and an MSc in Construction Management. He lectures on the built environment undergraduate programmes, principally, construction/project management, contract administration and procurement. He has been involved with the industry and the professional bodies throughout his career and currently sits on the Hampshire committee of the Chartered Institute of Building and is an external examiner for construction related courses at other universities. His research interest includes reliability centred maintenance (RCM).
