Biography

Originally from Glasgow, Steve’s qualifications include a BSc (Hons) Computer Studies and an MSc Software Engineering Management. Steve is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and was conferred the title of associate professor in 2013.

Steve is the Academic Leader of Solent Creatives. Solent Creatives provides organisations of all shapes and sizes with the opportunity to access Solent University's diverse pool of talent for freelance creative support at a cost-effective rate, whilst offering students the chance to build their professional portfolios and gain valuable real-world experience.

In this post, Steve is responsible for the day to day running of the Solent Creatives agency as well as lecturing students studying BA (Hons) Media Culture and Production, BA (Hons) Media Production and MA Creative Enterprise. Steve also teaches students on how to become freelancers in the creative industries. 

Steve has provided students media work experience opportunities at events such as Glastonbury, Glade and Butserfest music festivals. In his spare time Steve is a music video director with broadcast credits on music channels around the world including the U.K, Canada, the U.S and Europe. He is also a keen photographer, musician and film maker. His creative media portfolio is showcased on his website at www.cosmicegg.co.uk.
