Steve joined the team in 2014 as a lecturer in media technology. Prior to this, he worked as a broadcast engineer at BBC Broadcasting House for 12 years.

During his time at the BBC, he worked in a number of teams including studio support – mainly supporting the UK national radio networks, London Control Room, project engineering and Maida Vale studios.

While at the BBC, Steve undertook roles including acceptance and release as part of both phases of Project Next; the procurement exercise for mixing desks; the procurement and implementation of the knowledge management system, Inquira. He specialised in the support of the DHD desks around the W1 village, including the implementation of a formalised maintenance routine, reconfigurations, and the research into, and removal of, the bugs and quirks present from installation.

Steve studied on the original media technology programme and graduated in 2002. After gaining 12 years’ experience with the BBC, he has returned to educate future broadcast engineers.
