Zoe has had an interest in sport psychology since she represented England at Junior International Hockey and saw a sport psychologist for the first time. During her studies at the University of Surrey and Loughborough University, she realised that she prefers the experimental side to the subject, in particular aspects which set expert performers apart from less successful athletes. Zoe's research has focused on perception and decision making which has then been put into practice by setting up a successful consultancy business, working with elite athletes to improve the way they pick up and utilise information when performing.

After completing my PhD in 2012, she started teaching at Southampton Solent University in January 2013. This was the perfect opportunity to take on a more academic role whilst still being able to do consultancy work as well as carrying out more research.
