Role at Solent

David is responsible for the development of apprenticeship provision within the University - a role established in June 2016, following David's involvement in the trailblazer development of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, during 2015. 

David was programme group leader for business undergraduates at Southampton Solent University from 2011-16 and was also acting director (Operations) for the School of Business and Law for 2015-16.

His core subjects are corporate financial management, financing entrepreneurship with an interest in business start-ups, and entrepreneurship, as well as learning and teaching.  His main personal interest is training and competing with his dogs in obedience, agility and heel-work to music.


David has worked in higher education for over 10 years having previously spent over 20 years in corporate banking and corporate finance.

An Elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers David obtained an MBA through Sheffield Business School and is registered with The British Psychological Society. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Chartered Management Institute, David is also an external examiner at other universities.
