Biography
Louise is a diverse senior lecturer who has the skills and experience of teaching level 3 to level 7, digital marketing apprenticeship, CMI and CIM. She has module-led a range of modules including Principles of Marketing, CRM and Stakeholder Marketing, International Marketing, Marketing in Business, Consumer Behaviour, Retail Marketing, Services Marketing, CIM Stakeholder Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Working in the Creative Industries. She has also been 4, 5, and 6 level leader and a dissertation supervisor.
Louise is the academic lead for International Marketing Week (IMW), a joint venture with 11 partner universities - Solent being the only UK university - in Europe, where students can work on a live client brief from companies such as Mercedes Benz or Lucas-Bols, amongst other international brands. Louise works across subject groups with internal and external stakeholders, including Solent’s corporate partner and partner universities, to develop the provision and increase student visitor numbers. In 2021 the highest number of Solent students applied for IMW.
Louise is also an MBA dissertation tutor at MMU.
Further information
Prior to moving into academia, Louise worked in retail and high-technology companies in the private sector, gaining an understanding of the channel and business operations. One such element was the measurement and metrics of marketing campaigns during her time as campaign manager at Barbon Insurance Group, whose brand name she invented. Accordingly, she would bring both town and gown experience to the post, which would improve the real-world applicability of academic theories imparted to students.
