Tom Simons

Biography

Tom started his professional nursing career as a mature student, concentrating on his psychology and biology studies first, gaining the BSc Psychology et Biology at Liverpool John Moores University.

His enthusiasm and concern for patients' wellbeing led him to further his curiosity in nursing, which was then followed by a hunger for education, and ended in a Diploma in High Education in Nursing, awarded by the University of Central Lancashire.

Tom then practised as a critical care outreach nurse practitioner and an emergency nurse practitioner for more years then he would like to admit in acute NHS hospital trusts. He also completed the PG Diploma in Advanced Nurse Practice at the City University of London. He most recently completed a MRes psychology, has a PG Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Tom was also very passionate about his role of an educator at Solent University is proud to lead the adult nursing course and postgraduate provision.
