Welcome to Deanery

Deanery has 422 en-suite study-bedrooms, separated into flats of seven, eight or ten, and is made up of three separate buildings. Accommodation is available for first year undergraduates, second and third year students, postgraduates, maritime officer cadets, and exchange students. 

Deanery is approximately a 15-minute walk from the main campus and is close to the city centre.

Facilities

  • Flat configuration containing seven, eight or 10 single study-bedrooms with en-suite toilet, washbasin and shower facilities.
  • Kitchen/diners equipped with storage area, fridges, freezers, electric hobs, conventional and microwave ovens, kettles and vacuum cleaners.
  • Common room with Freeview, and free pool, ping-pong and table football. There are designated study pods with multimedia screens in the common rooms to assist group and individual work within the residence.
  • Laundry room equipped with app operated washing machines and tumble dryers and facilities for ironing.
  • Secure bicycle storage and parking for 51 cars.
  • Designated quieter areas available.

Fees

Standard en-suite rooms

  • £148.75 per week
  • £6,247.50 for standard* period of residence

*Standard residence period runs from 12 September 2024 to 3 July 2025 (42 weeks). Please note: fees are subject to amendment before the commencement of any period of occupancy. For the avoidance of doubt, fees will not be amended once a contractual arrangement has been entered into.

All four of Solent's student residences are in Southampton city centre, close to shops, amenities and entertainment, and none are more than a 20-minute walk from the main campus.
