Entry requirements
Undergraduate courses
As a general guide, we look for qualifications that are equivalent to the British High School A-levels. A portfolio is also required for most of our Art & Design courses.

Students with a Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate) may be considered for a Foundation Year (level 0 of a Bachelor Degree)
Postgraduate courses
As a general guide, we look for qualifications that are equivalent to the British Bachelor Degree.

English Language requirements
In order to enrol on a course at the University, you will be required to demonstrate an acceptable level of competence in both written and spoken English.
The normal examinations to demonstrate competence are:
At Undergraduate Level (Bachelor degree):

Cambridge Advanced Certificate (Grade C) or

Cambridge Proficiency (Grade C) or

IELTS 6.00 or

TOEFL score of 550 or more (213 computerised or 79-80 internet-based)

At Postgraduate Level:

IELTS 6.5 or

TOEFL score of 600 or more (250 computerised or 100 internet-based)

Visa information
As a Jordanian national, you will need to apply for a visa to come and study in the UK. You should make your application for a visa at your local British Embassy or High Commission in your country.
Certificate of Acceptance for Study (CAS)
When you have met all the conditions of entry for a full-time course at Southampton Solent University (inc. payment of deposit and course acceptance), you will be sent a Certificate of Acceptance for Study (CAS) number. You will need this document to apply for a visa to study at our university.
