Entry requirements

Undergraduate courses

As a general guide, we look for qualifications that are equivalent to the British high school A-levels. A portfolio is also required for most of our art and design courses.

Foundation years

Students with a good Senior High School Diploma and an IELTS of minimum 5.5 may be eligible for a foundation year (level 0 of a bachelor's degree) or an HND programme.

Postgraduate courses

As a general guide, we look for qualifications that are equivalent to the British bachelor's degree.

English language requirements

In order to enrol on a course at the University, you will be required to demonstrate an acceptable level of competence in both written and spoken English.

Visa information   

As a Chinese national, you will need to apply for a visa to come and study in the UK. You should make your application for a visa at your local British Embassy or High Commission in your country.

Certificate of Acceptance for Study (CAS)

When you have met all the conditions of entry for a full-time course at Southampton Solent University (inc. payment of deposit and course acceptance), you will be sent a Certificate of Acceptance for Study (CAS) number. You will need this document to apply for a visa to study at our university.

Southampton Solent University is based in the heart of Southampton City and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities internally and through our partners.  Check out one of these activities with the Chinese Sail Training Association.
