Incoming exchange
Southampton Solent University welcomes incoming exchange students from our partner universities under the European Union funded Lifelong Learning Programme – Erasmus and from other partners. Unfortunately we are unable to accept freemovers.
The application process
In order to apply for a place as an exchange student at Southampton Solent University you will need to fill out an application form.

Once you have completed the form, you must get it signed by your academic tutor and the exchange co-ordinator at your home university. The forms should then be sent together with the requested documentation to the Academic Partnerships Office, preferably by email: international.exchanges@solent.ac.uk|
We are unable to consider applications without proof of English Language proficiency and which have not been endorsed by your home university. Please look at the University's English requirements.

Students wishing to take units in Visual Arts should send a portfolio. Students wishing to study performance units are asked to send a DVD of one classical and one modern piece.
Once a decision has been made you will receive an official offer letter which will allow you to book your accommodation.|
Deadlines for applications:
If you do not hold a European Union passport you will be required to obtain a Visa to enter the UK. Please see the information about the new process under the section Visa and Immigration|. Further information can be found on the UK Border Agency |and the British Council| webpages.
Important dates
The international induction programme will take place between 17 to 21 September 2012. We have put together a programme of activities such as an introduction to the city and the University, advice on language classes, how to register with a doctor and social events. Attendance for exchange students is not compulsory but we do advise you to arrive in time for Freshers' Week so that you can enrol and meet with academic staff to arrange your timetable.
