The Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)| can help to pay for any costs or expenses incurred that arise due to disability, whilst studying. They are not income assessed and there is no upper age limit.

Who is eligible?

Full-time, Part-time and Postgraduate 'home' students with disabilities are able to make an application for DSA. 

How do I apply?

Applications are made to Student Finance England (SFE) via the direct.gov| website.     

How is it paid?

The Student Loans Company will either pay you or the supplier of the specialist equipment or services.  

What happens next?

SFE will notify you in writing about the equipment and support that they will fund from the DSA. This process usually takes four to six weeks.
