Solent students live in one of the best cities in the country, league table finds

Out of 70 cities in the UK, Southampton has been ranked number 8 according to student reviews of cost of living, hospitality, transport and retail, and ranks highest in the region.

Determined from more than 9,000 independent reviews submitted by students, the Best Student Cities results reveal that the Solent community are enjoying some of the very best experiences and value for money as students in the city.

StudentCrowd is the number one reviews platform for students, providing authentic reviews of universities that steer incoming undergraduates' decision-making when it comes to choosing the right institution for them. Elevating student voices to ensure young people receive accurate information based on recent experiences, this year's Best Student Cities results reassure those considering university that Southampton is an affordable, vibrant city to call home.

Climbing the ranks from 19th place in 2022, this year's Best Student Cities result indicates that Southampton is a great city to live in for affordability and lifestyle, enhancing social experiences for students alongside their studies, and rising to meet the needs of young people today.
