Undergraduate full-time degree and HND courses
If you are applying to university for the first time, it is likely that you will start your application on the UCAS website. UCAS is an online service which can help you to apply for university places and keep track of the offers you receive.
Students from outside the EU can also apply through UCAS for an undergraduate degree course. The only exception is if you are applying through an agent, in which case you should contact them directly and they will advise you on the application process specific to them. Students from outside the EU who are applying for a part-time or postgraduate course will not be able to apply through UCAS - further information about direct applications can be found below.
Undergraduate study covers most of the higher-education courses available after you have completed A-levels (or equivalent qualifications) at school or college. Most undergraduates study a three-year bachelor's degree and the majority of Solent's courses fall into this category.
Postgraduate courses covers higher-level study, including master's degrees, doctorates (PhDs) and postgraduate diplomas. These typically require you to have completed an undergraduate degree, often with 2:2 honours or higher, before you can study them.
All students applying for the first year of a full-time/sandwich undergraduate courses must apply through UCAS (University and Colleges Admissions Service). Initial application guidance and course information can be found on the UCAS website.
