Where

You'll start your day at The Spark building at our East Park Terrace campus. From there you'll be able to take tours of our fantastic facilities and attend course taster sessions.

Our Below Bar campus, just a ten minute walk from our main campus, is home to our design and illustration degrees - some course taster sessions will take place there.

What to expect

Our visit days are packed full of activities, tours and talks - all to help you discover what life here at Solent University is like.

Course tasters will run from either 11am or midday and last for two hours. These tasters will give you the opportunity to experience first-hand what life as a student is like on your chosen course. The sessions give an in-depth look into the course content and academic support available to students.

You'll also be able to get up close and personal with some of the facilities and equipment you could be using on your course.

What to expect

At our postgraduate visit days, you'll have the opportunity to discover more about life as a postgraduate student at Solent. 

Find out about career progression and student funding at our general talks, and speak to our admissions and accommodation teams.

You'll also have the opportunity to meet with academic staff to get an overview of your course of interest, and get up close and personal with some the facilities and equipment you could be using.

This general open day is for all prospective students looking to study either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Solent, starting in September 2019 or September 2020.

At our general open days, you'll have the opportunity to find out more about life as a student at Solent University. You'll also be able to attend a variety of general presentations. If there's a course or subject area you're particularly interested in, come along to one of the specific course talks and meet with our academic staff to get an overview of the course and ask any questions you may have.

To get a real feel of student life at Solent, you'll be able to look around our accommodation options and take a tour of the campus. There will also be the opportunity to see some of the facilities and equipment you may get to use on your course.

Where

At our St Mary's campus, Solent's home of maritime training. Take a tour of our fantastic facilities, including our simulation suite and engineering workshops.

 

What to expect

Our careers in maritime open day will give you an insight into what a career in the maritime industry has to offer, and the training programmes to qualify as a ship's navigation (deck), engineer or electro-technical officer in the Merchant Navy and on superyachts.

Many of the major British shipping companies and recruitment and training companies who recruit cadets will be there to give information about the career opportunities they offer. Our teaching staff are also on hand to talk about the academic side of training.

If you're interested in a particular course or subject area, where possible, we'll show you the facilities you could be using if you choose to study at Solent.

After the tour, a member of our admissions and enrolment team will be available to answer any further questions you may have.

We'll also give you the contact details for the course leader in case you want to get in touch with course-specific questions.
