Situated right in the centre of the busy city of Southampton, the Southampton Solent University campus is home to students and staff from many different backgrounds and nationalities.

Of course, being in the city centre means that many amenities are just a few minutes' walk from the lecture room, but as well as exploring Southampton, take some time to discover what's available to you right here on campus.

Here for you

Here at Solent University, we want our students to enjoy their time while they're studying and feel a part of the Solent student community. If you need it, you'll be able to find lots of advice on everything from academic and personal matters, to study skills and careers guidance.

Student Hub

The Student Hub is where you can go if you need to talk to someone and get expert advice on academic or personal matters. The friendly team can offer counselling, funding advice, chaplaincy, and also answer queries about your timetable, assessments or extenuating circumstances. You'll find the Student Hub on the ground floor of the Reginald Mitchell building, in the main concourse.

Students Union

Solent Students' Union is run by students for students. As well as organising things like social events and volunteering opportunities, the Students' Union is on hand to offer independent advice and support while you're at university.

Refresh and revive

Need to grab a quick bite to eat between lectures? Or maybe you need a full-on breakfast to get you going for the day. Either way, you'll find plenty of food choices on campus.

The Dock Restaurant

This is the main food area and offers a great variety of dishes, ranging from hearty breakfasts and home-cooked meals at Originals, American-style food at Swanky Franks, tasty chicken burgers and wraps at Yardbird, or a healthy salad at Natural. And for dessert, be sure to stop by the ice-cream bar, Treats, for a delicious sundae.

East Park Deli

Adjacent to the University's new building The Spark, East Park Deli serves a range of hot drinks, including Starbucks Coffee, and hot and cold food choices that can be eaten in or taken away. Breakfast is also served here, including porridge pots, bagels and sausage baguettes.

The Artisan

You'll find Artisan at our Sir James Matthews building, a short walk across the park from our main East Park Terrace campus. Artisan offers a range of home-made dishes including breakfasts, soups, salads, and sandwiches. Be sure to also check out their daily specials for some tasty treats.

Costa Coffee

Just as you would expect from any Costa Coffee, you can grab a hot drink and a delicious pastry to have while you're on the go.

C-Store

Our on-campus convenience store and newsagent, C-Store, has a great range of newspapers and magazines, confectionery, snacks and stationery. There's also an ATM machine and the facility to top-up your mobile phone. C-Store can be found in the main concourse, next to the Student Hub in Reginald Mitchell Building.

Study

You'll find plenty of study areas around campus, from libraries and learning resource centres, to comfortable spaces and sofas for a more relaxed study environment.

Mountbatten Library

Open 24/7 at peak periods, the Mountbatten Library has a huge range of books, journals and other materials in both print and electronic format to help you with your studies. With over 800 study places, including group and individual study rooms and silent study areas, the library is a thriving academic hub with staff available to help enhance your use of our resources and learning spaces.
