All students on this degree will need to complete at least 120 hours of work experience during the course, and opportunities to carry this out are embedded in the curriculum.
You’ll also be able to work with the University’s in-house company, Solent Productions, which offers placements and opportunities on projects including music festivals, corporate and promotional work. Recent examples include filming live bands such as Rudimental, transmitted on BBC Three.
Students are encouraged to gain hands-on experience with the University’s in-house company, Solent Productions and Solent TV, the University’s student-run online TV channel.
The School of Media Arts and Technology has a long history of providing work experience opportunities for students over the summer, working in a variety of crew roles at music festivals including Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Boardmasters and Bestival.
Television studio production students have gained work experience placements on programmes including The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Mastermind and The Big Question.
