Colleagues across the University are invited to attend an industry insight event, delivered in partnership with engineers Scott White and Hookins, and architects Scott Brownrigg. The event will provide you with an insight to the story behind the Spark and its many unique design features.
The Spark building provides a central, semi-public social learning space and is the first part of an ambitious £100 million estate development programme at the University. With a number of unique and ground breaking design features, this investment will help us to further enrich the student experience while also supporting the region's economic growth and development.
Guest speakers include:
- Ian Pratt, Director at Scott Brownrigg, will explore the story behind the Spark and the buildings many unique design elements.
- Mark Craven, Engineer at Scott White and Hookins, will share an insight to the many unique and ground breaking engineering concepts behind one of the Spark's most striking features: our 60 seater lecture theatre, the Pod.
- Osama Khan, Director of Solent Learning and Teaching Institute, will discuss how the Spark offers an enhanced learning experience.
Light refreshments will be served during the evening with opportunity to network with industry guests and colleagues.
