Business Exchange Network launch

Join us for the first of our Business Exchange sessions, providing an open forum for business owners and leaders to explore opportunities for innovation and collaboration. New to Solent for the 2023/24 academic year, this new format will allow you to explore how Universities like Solent can work with you to overcome your business challenges. Our first session will focus on innovation and collaboration, exploring how in the current climate you can balance long term growth and short growth turnover. Guest speakers at this session include:

Stephen Woodhouse – Knowledge Transfer Advisor at Innovate UK

Stephen looks after businesses supporting their projects with knowledge bases in many parts of the country and maintains relationships with designated universities in relation to their participation in the programme. Working on behalf of Innovate UK, Stephen helps to identify and convene new Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and provide collaborative support for the development of an application and associated business case.

Formerly CEO of a global telecom consulting practice, Stephen built the group from scratch to preparation for a $350m IPO on NASDAQ. In a Business Development role, Stephen created powerful and influential partnerships and built enduring relationships at the most senior level. Most recently Stephen has been involved in the strategy formulation and investment analysis of energy management systems – particularly initiatives involving Demand Response, Smart Metering and Smart Grid.

Alongside our guest speakers there will also be a series of open networking sessions, allowing you to collaborate and share your experiences with fellow business owners. Following the event there will be the option to go on a tour of our University campus and see some of the specialist facilities on offer.
