Restart a Heart day
It’s time to get hands on for Restart a Heart Day.
Most of us will witness a cardiac arrest in our lifetime and survival rates from out of hospital cardiac arrest remain stubbornly low in the UK, with fewer than one in ten people surviving. On Saturday 16 October 2022 an alliance of partners all over the world will come together to increase public awareness of cardiac arrests and increase the number of people trained in life saving CPR. We want our local communities, students and staff ready for that day, by accessing this fast, free and easy-to-use CPR training course
Whether you’ve learnt CPR before, or this is your first time, ‘Restart a Heart’ day is an opportunity to learn how CPR guidance has changed during COVID-19 and gain the skills and confidence to help if someone collapses and stops breathing normally through a new digital platform which you can access in the safe and comfort of your own home. Just 15 minutes is all you need to complete the new, interactive British Heart Foundation’s ‘RevivR’ CPR training course where you will learn to save a life! You will also receive your very own CPR certificate once completed!
What is CPR?
CPR is a life-saving medical procedure which is given to someone who is in cardiac arrest. Each year over 30,000 people have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK, with less than 1 in 10 surviving - CPR can more than double someone’s chance of survival.
