As official partner of local radio station Unity 101, Solent’s very own Geeta Uppal, Senior Access and Widening Participation Officer, will be presenting this week’s Community Hour.

During the show we will explore the importance of lifelong learning and how Solent, alongside other organisations in the city, is supporting residents to develop new skills and enhance their employability prospects.

Our guests on the show include:

  • Rhys Phillips, UK Student Recruitment, Events and Enquiries Manager from Solent University
  • Ismail Ahmed, an apprentice student on Solent University’s Operational and Managerial Degree Apprenticeship
  • Ali Phillips, Post-16 Careers Coordinator at Southampton City Council

As well as discussing the importance of lifelong learning we will also:

  • Provide advice and information on how to gain the necessary skills and qualifications.
  • Explore the opportunities offered through higher education.
  • Hear from a current apprentice and their experience of studying at Solent University.
  • Learn about the broader support available in the city in terms of careers advice and employability support.

Tune in live from 3pm for the show
