Thanks to an opportunity brought about by alumni and Global Director of Football at Roc Nation Sports International, students on Solent University’s football studies programme will be given industry experience with a leading organisation that works with some of world’s most elite athletes.

Launched in 2013, Roc Nation Sports International focuses on elevating athletes' careers on a global scale both on and off the field – by conceptualising and executing marketing and endorsement deals, community outreach, charitable tie-ins, media relations, and brand strategy.

Roc Nation Sports will be working with the football studies programme at Solent to provide students with opportunities to use their course experience to track players, provide player dossiers, scout new and potential clients and compile data collection for their worldwide roster of players.

“I have been fortunate to be able to observe how special Roc Nation Sports International are as an organisation, says BSc (Hons) Football Studies Course Leader Kevin Braybrook.

“They have a strong philosophy towards player care which goes far beyond player performance. I am sure the students that are part of this collaboration will learn, develop, and grow in their roles as scouts and Performance Analysts.”

“This new relationship will allow our students to gain insight into the working culture behind an industry leading enterprise, developing skills, and increasing their visibility in this sector,” he continues.

Nathan Campbell, Global Director of Football Recruitment and Solent graduate says, “As an agency we are always looking to support our clients on a 360 basis, of which video and performance analysis is a key vertical. Kevin is always looking at innovative ways for students to get real industry experience, for us an agency and me personally it’s great to work with the students and allow them exposure to our athletes. So, when Kevin presented the idea and opportunity, I was excited. I look forward to a long-standing relationship and hopefully this may lead to full-time opportunities with ourselves or within the industry for the students”.
