Get UpFront!
An exciting and fun session exploring the challenges that make-up artists are presented with - designing a face that will represent beauty, character or even horror!
In addition to this year's session, students who attend will have the opportunity to create a design that they can use to enter Front! - Solent University's design challenge for make-up artists in collaboration with AnonStyle Magazine.
Students will spend the session creating a design that reflects this year's Front competition theme of 'Under the Sea', using Solent face and hair charts (uniquely designed for the media and fashion styling programme at Solent University). The sessions will take place in our new make-up and hair studios, allowing aspiring creatives to see the range of outcomes that make-up artists can produce, while being introduced to some of the materials that artists work with professionally. All of this and the full design support by key members of the Solent make-up and hair event team.
Entering Front! competition is optional; enjoying yourself during this design session is not!
This taster session is suitable for students in FE (full- or part-time study), on art foundation, Level 3 Diplomas across art and design; and students studying media, make-up and hair, and performance.
