Squat-ology - how low can you...
In this interactive session, your students will see how assessing and addressing limited ankle range of motion may be the key to enhancing squat depth and possibly physical performance.

Movement matters ... if you're not assessing, you may be guessing
Your pupils will take part in an interactive induction to some of the basic principles underpinning human movement, and some easy to deliver assessments that may help inform the design of an appropriate movement programme.

Theory into practice: developing the attack in football
This session wil allow your students to understand how the principles of attacking play is applied in a practical coaching environment. The practical session is delivered at the University's Test Park football centre, and incorporates technical, tactical and physical components.

Field based
Your pupils will gain an understanding of the different types of field-based measurements that can relate to how they currently measure those parameters. All pupils can take part and collect their own data on all pieces of equipment used.

Maximal and sub-maximal testing (physiology)
This session will give your students an insight into some of the more popular sport science tests. The 30-second Wingate test is a maximal power test performed on a bike, which is used to measure sprint power. The maximal VO2max test is a test of aerobic capacity and provides the best insight into the fitness of an individual. The VO2max can be undertaken on a bike or a treadmill.
Duration: 2-3 hours

Sub-maximal testing (physiology)
This session will provide more opportunities for your students to get involved, compared to the maximal physiology sessions (doing the sub-maximal VO2max test means more students can take part). The sub-maximal VO2max is a sub-maximal test which uses an equation to predict the participants' VO2max value.

Biomechanics
This session focuses on biomechanics in sport - the analysis of mechanics of human movements. Your pupils will be able to see specialist equipment in action, including an isokinetic dynamometer, for isolated strength testing;Kistler force plates; and a Vicon 3D motion analysis system.

Mixture of sub-maximal
This session offers a combination of both physiology and biomechanics, giving a greater representation of sport science in general. Activities involve a submaximal Wingate test for maximal power, using the IKD for isolated strength testing, the anti-gravity treadmill for rehabilitation running, and the Kistler force plates.

Sport psychology
Using equipment to track visual fixes of certain sporting movements: the Vienna system to measure peripheral vision, Fitlights to measure agility and reaction time, and the Batak to measure reaction time, your students will gain an understanding and insight into sport psychology.
