The EDI plan in relation to students will mean greater equity of outcomes. That there's work going on around the inclusive curriculum that's intertwined with the EDI plan and I think it's about producing fair outcomes for all. There's a difference between equity and equality and I think what this plan is really going to do is see the institution moving more towards equality and a level playing field for all students From a staff perspective I think it's about visibility of staff from black and minority ethnic backgrounds and I'm chair of the staff black minority ethnic network. I think it sends a message that says the University is committed to celebrating the diversity of its students and staff and improving, continuously improving the experience for students and staff and I think actually committing to that in a plan shows that it is accountable and will continue to be accountable for that and i think that's a really positive step forward.
