Understanding Modern Mobile Production Facilities

On Tuesday 13 February we welcomed back Neville Hooper, Deputy Head of Sound for NEP Visions and graduate from Media Technology (1998) to come and discuss outside broadcasting with our third year students.

Neville discussed planning and logistics for the variety of events you might come across working in the industry from standard football matches to more unusual programmes such as Lambing Live. We then moved on to discussing new technologies as this is an area that changes incredibly fast, looking at topics such as 4K, IP Remote Production and the use of Dolby Atmos. Students also took this opportunity to ask Neville what to expect from job interviews and how to prepare for them.

It’s always great to have our graduates return and impart their knowledge, and as usual we are grateful for their input in helping the students’ understanding and preparation for the future.
