In this talk Dr Mark Aldridge will be discussing his new project, the book Agatha Christie's Poirot: The Greatest Detective in the World, which tells the full story of a century of the famous Belgian sleuth. Mark will explain how he gathered the material needed to tell this story, including 'evidence' of projects and ideas that were previously unknown such as a grand cross-European adventure for television and plans for a big screen outing for David Suchet's Poirot.

Mark will then discuss his most interesting findings which cast new light on Agatha Christie's famous detective, who first appeared in 1920's The Mysterious Affair at Styles. This lively and accessible talk will also include a Q&A, perfect for fans of the world's best-selling novelist.

This talk forms part of Solent's Virtual Insight Series, a series of free public events that provide open access to our academic knowledge and expertise throughout the year.
