About music studio 1

Music studio 1 is the primary studio within the John Millais ground floor complex. Its centrepiece is industry-leading 24-fader, six-knob Avid S6 M40 control surface. This allows delicate and comprehensive control of the Pro Tools HD or Logic Pro X software. It is complemented with quality microphone pre amps and hardware compressors, and EQs. Also included is a suite of plug-ins from Sonnox, McDSP, Avid and Melodyne.

The 6.5m x 3.5m live room contains two electric guitar amplifiers and a bass guitar amp, together with the five-piece Mapex drum kit. 

The system has 24 inputs via 16 channels of Avid PRE, four channels of Neve 4081 pre and a further four channels of Focusrite ISA428 pre. There is stereo monitoring via either a pair of Dynaudio M2 speakers or a pair of Yamaha NS-10 speakers. There are also two stereo headphone mixes back to the live room.
