Psychology laboratory
Purpose built laboratories equipped with industry standard resources for gathering data.
About the psychology laboratory
The psychology laboratory is used for teaching, consultancy and research activities. The lab includes four interview/recording suites. It is also available for student dissertation projects.
The psychology laboratories are purpose built rooms that allow psychology students to collect data from human participants using the same resources as professional psychologists.
Students can carry out cognitive and psycho-physiological investigations using a sophisticated eye tracker to trace eye positions on a computer screen or the Biopac programme to measure the participant’s physiological reactions such as heart rate and skin conductivity.
Collecting a wide range of data using these resources gives students the opportunity to enhance their psychological methods and analysis as well as experience complex psychological research.
