Tuition fees and CAS (confirmation of acceptance of studies) deposits
The University does not accept cash, cheques or bankers drafts in payment of tuition fees. Please use the online services available to make payment.
New students can also make payment for their tuition fees when registering online, or booking a short course.
To make a payment, please have the following items available before proceeding:
- Your student ID.
- The payment amount.
Advance tuition fee payments, including CAS deposits
All student tuition fee payments, including applicant advance payments, should be made through My Finance by logging into Gateway. You will need your user name and password to log in.

If you have not already applied for a room in one of our residences you can do so on our accommodation page.
You should only use the payment page for accommodation or car parking payments after you have accepted our accommodation offer and paid the required payment (outlined in your offer).

All payments should be made through the accommodation portal where you will also be able to see outstanding fees on your account.

The University's payment plans are designed to be simple and straightforward, allowing students to spread the cost of their course and to graduate without debt. No payment plans are offered for courses for less than one year.
The University offers the following payment plans:
Undergraduate home self-funded: 33% October, 33% January, 34% April
Undergraduate overseas: 50% prior to CAS, 25% January, 25% April
Postgraduate home: 33% September, 33% January, 34% May
Postgraduate overseas: 50% September, 50% January
Payment plans can be set up during online registration.
To submit payment details to set up the plan, please use our online payment plan portal. You will need your student number and card to hand.

Overseas credit cards
If available on your credit card, we offer you the option to pay in your own currency. If you choose to take advantage of this, your initial payment and all future payments will be processed in your own currency. The exchange rate used is based on Reuters Wholesale Interbank Exchange Rate. The currency conversions service is provided by FEXCO Merchant Services on behalf of Solent University. FEXCO provides Solent University customers a best rate guarantee. If you choose not to take advantage of paying in your own currency, all transactions for your plan will be processed in Sterling. Cardholder choice is final.
