Taster day: Step into the world of business (Day two)
Wed 2 July
On-campus
Calling all Year 12 and 13 students with an interest in business, entrepreneurship, or just curious about what it's like to study business at university.
Join us for our exciting end-of-year taster event, designed to give students a taste of the fast-paced, creative, and problem-solving world of business.
Two action-packed days, attend one or both – you choose.
Day 1 – Build a Business
Turn a spark of an idea into a business reality. Students will collaborate in teams to create their own business pop-up – from brainstorming on a post-it to presenting a full business plan. This interactive workshop focuses on:
* Creative thinking
* Team building
* Entrepreneurial skills
* Pitching with confidence
Students will end the day by pitching their big idea to real-life entrepreneur and judge, Matt Sanger.
Day 2 – Business in Crisis: Heathrow Airport Challenge
Step into the shoes of a crisis response team and tackle a real-world business emergency. When fire and power outages strike Heathrow Airport, how do you manage the chaos?
*Teams will be tasked with:
*Crisis management
*Strategic thinking
*Communication and PR planning
*Reputation and financial recovery
Students solutions will be judged by Michelle Merry, former Heathrow Operations Manager and now Deputy Head of our Business Department – someone who’s faced these challenges in real life.
Who Should Attend?
These days are ideal for post-exam students considering Business, Marketing, Management, or Entrepreneurship degrees. They will experience real university-style learning, get hands-on with real business scenarios and meet like-minded students from across the region
