Solent students and colleagues with an interest in maritime technologies or virtual reality (VR) are warmly invited to attend a conference marketing the successful completion of Innovate UK-funded project ‘VR Emergency @ Sea’ which has recently concluded.
The event will feature a series of presentations on the project’s findings, and a live demonstration of the training solutions developed. We look forward to welcoming you and thank you in advance for being part of this important occasion for the Warsash MASS Research Centre (WMRC), Southampton Solent University.
Attendance at the event is free but all guests are asked to register in advance.Â
‘VR Emergency @ Sea’ funded by Innovate UK, is a collaboration between the Centre for Factories of the Future (C4FF) and Southampton Solent University, bringing together expertise in maritime safety, immersive technologies, and training solutions.
The project has developed a VR training application designed to enhance the safety and preparedness of maritime professionals working in confined spaces. This innovative solution equips seafarers with essential skills to manage emergency scenarios such as fire incidents, gas leaks, and other critical situations, while also providing a transferable model for other high-risk industries.
