Globally recognised executive and entrepreneur, Ty Francis MBE, has been appointed Chair of Southampton Solent University’s Business, Law and Society Impact Board.
The board brings together a range of business leaders, representing a diversity of sectors from entertainment and banking to retail and tourism. Ty is an award-winning executive, entrepreneur and corporate governance innovator. An alumnus of Solent, Ty brings a huge range of experience and leadership insight to this position.
The appointment of Ty as chair of the board comes at an exciting time, as Solent drives its Strategy 2035 forward and unveils a new academic structure. At the helm of the School of Business, Law and Society is Professor Lois Farquharson.
On his appointment, Ty says:
“I am honoured to be appointed Chair of Solent University’s Business, Law and Society Impact Board. It is a privilege to work alongside such a talented group of leaders who share my commitment to making a real difference for students, businesses, and the wider community.
“As an alumni and former students’ union president, I am proud to tale on this role and look forward to helping the board shape ideas that have a lasting and positive impact.”
Solent is a civic university committed to working collaboratively to enhance opportunities in the region. The University’s impact boards play a key role in this, bringing together organisations to drive growth and provide benefit to both students and communities. Lois says:
