Solent organises innovative careers event

Solent University, Southampton, organised a two-day careers event aiming to inspire future law and business students.

The event titled ‘Your Future at Work’ saw business leaders from across the region come together with the business and law school at the university, to offer insight and advice, to over 160 students aged 16-18 from Hampshire, Dorset, and the Isle of Wight.

The panel consisted of: Lawyer Paula Swain, from Shoosmiths, Head of Legal at Southampton Football Club Zoe O'Sullivan, and Rentacar’s Talent Acquisition Manager Paul Hanrahan, and Branch Manager Fareen Bhatti. They discussed what work may look like in the future, tips on being recruited and finding work experience, and how to stand out from the crowd.

“Solent University’s Law and Business Taster Day and Careers Conference was a superb way to engage with a large number of local schools and colleges in supporting their students who are looking to study these subject areas at university.
