[Brad Rodgers, BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science student] We've got Hampshire Cricket in for their postseason testing. We had them in for preseason as well, so we're sort of just seeing their values; if they've improved, if they've got anyone back from injury, seeing what their values are at, at the minute and what we can do about that.
[Dr Lee Bridgeman, Lecturer in Sport Science and Performance] in terms of the partnership the students really benefit already. So probably for the last five years all of Hampshire Crickets preseason testing has been done at Solent University so we've been able to get our undergrad students from year one all the way up to year three involved in all that testing.


[Jamie Cook, Head of Science and Medicine, Hampshire Cricket] We get access to a great laboratory like this and the fantastic equipment that's here, the students are very helpful in delivering the testing to the players. They're looking to conduct research at the club which is diving into questions that we don't have the answer to.
[Jessica Head, BSc (Hons) Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science student] so the thing I enjoy about Solent most is the opportunities we get, so like days like today it gives me exposure to different sports teams and different equipment which you might not be able to get in other universities and just real life experiences really.

[Jake Richmond, BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Therapy student] Currently I'm working as a sport therapist placement at Hampshire Cricket. So I'm doing work with the men's team, the women's team, as well as their both their respective academies. I'm now helping out with some of the SNC stuff so observing there, helping them kind of manage sessions and supervise and then also MSK screenings doing what I can there.
[Josh Simpson, BSC (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science student] Solent set me up for my future career by running all sorts of these sessions so Hampshire Cricket is just one of the teams that we work with, so we work with a lot of GB players and England players and I've had the pleasure of working with a Paralympian. Experience and employability are the two massive things that you get.

[Brad]  I think as an undergraduate especially having the opportunities to work with, not just Hampshire, but a lot of other professional teams in multiple sports. I think it is such a big thing and like getting the experience, with like sort of in the industry, is so important because it means when I go to do a job in the future I already know what I'm doing, I'm going to go in and confident, I can talk to the athletes, I know what I'm talking about and how to use all the equipment.

[Jake] Studying at Solent I think's been amazing for me because all the opportunities that we have with all the resources, all the equipment that we've got access to throughout our entire period of study here. But it's something that not many universities have. It puts us in a really good position. All the lectures that we've got are incredibly knowledgeable they've got connections, they know people I wouldn't have had this without the connections that my lecturers have I've got people that I know from here and now from also my placement and all these connections working together are going to hopefully at least give me um opportunity to work somewhere pretty cool in the future.
