Biography

Jon has been an associate lecturer in sports coaching since 2017. He has completed a BSc (Hons) in Applied Sport Science and an MSc in Athletic Development and Peak Performance.

Jon has also been coaching in sport for over 10 years and more recently as a performance coach and strength and conditioning coach within Olympic-level sailing.

Jon is passionate about sports performance coaching and helping coaches from a variety of sports to develop and promote best practice.

  1. Industry experience

    Jon has over 10 years' coaching experience, and has worked at professional and Olympic level within strength and conditioning and sports performance.
  2. Teaching experience

    Jon is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy, lecturing in the following units: introduction to sport and exercise science, sport and exercise science skills and application, leadership through sport and exercise science, principles of coaching, coaching for sport, coaching for young performers, and high performance coaching.
  3. Research interests

    Jon’s main research areas are focused towards the impact of sports psychology on peak performance and best practice within coaching for sports performance.
