Sally first taught on the public relations and communication degree in 2003. Since then she has worked exclusively on the degree, becoming course leader in 2012. Sally’s key areas of focus for the degree are employability and student engagement, for which she has established an outstanding reputation. Sally’s specialist subject areas encompass public relations, internal communication, organisational behaviour, digital PR and employability.
As well as her course leadership responsibilities, Sally is the University’s link tutor for the professional development programmes at the Institute of Internal Communication.
Prior to starting at Southampton Solent University, Sally worked as an internal communication manager at NTL (now Virgin Media). Here she managed the development of an internal communications approach for the corporate support areas, in line with the company's communications strategy.
