Your views matter. They help us to understand what you like about the University, and what we could do to improve in the future. There are lots of different ways to tell us what you think, so if something's bothering you don't stay quiet – speak up and make a difference.

Come into the Hub and have a chat

We like a good catch-up and we know a lot of you do, too. Visit our Student Hub team in the Andrews' building concourse for a chat about any general university queries. From timetabling and assessments, to results and accommodation enquiries, the team will help you out or point you in the direction of someone who can.

The Student Hub also provide general wellbeing support for when things don’t go to plan, or you just need some extra guidance.

Complete our online form

If you'd like to share your thoughts with us, but would rather not do this in person, you can complete our online form. You can use this to tell us about anything just remember to leave your contact details so we can get back to you.

Speak with your student or school rep

Course and school reps are students who work with course teams, the University and the Students' Union to improve your experience at Solent. They're there to listen to your thoughts and represent your views at meetings with the University and the VP Education. If you're not sure who your course or school rep is, ask your lecturer in your next teaching session. You can also speak to your elected officers – student officers or the Sabbatical Officers about any concerns.

Attend the Student Council

The Student Council is a representative forum of the Students' Union and the student's voice. Its function is to hold the Sabbatical Officer team to account and pass motions put forward by students.

Take part in our surveys

Throughout the year the University promotes various surveys you can complete to give feedback on your time at Solent. These include the National Student Survey (NSS) run by market research company Ipsos MORI, which is open to final-year students from January to April, and the University's own Your Unit Survey, where you review your individual modules.

We also run the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) for students on postgraduate taught courses, and the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) for our doctoral students. Both of these surveys ask about your experience at Solent, and aim to understand how we can enhance learning and teaching at the University.

We hope you'll choose to take part in these surveys when invited; your views matter, and we take all your comments into consideration. Look out for prize draws around some of our main surveys, too.
