Why Solent is the university for me transcript

[music plays] The reason I decided to come to Solent University was for multiple reasons. The community around Solent is really nice and really welcoming.

Throughout the video, there are shots of students using the facilities and enjoying university life. Some of the speakers are talking to camera.

I joined the football society and they were just welcoming with open arms. I've met some of my best friends through Solent. They have helped me all the way through. I'm very grateful for each and every one of them.

What haven't I loved? I really loved meeting new people. I had friends that came to Solent University and studied here, and they all had very positive reviews and they all really enjoyed it. You learn different cultures, you learn about yourself. How you present yourself in front of anybody else.

I did lots that I wouldn't normally do, such as badminton or climbing or going on nights out and even stuff like doing Bollywood dancing with my friends. We've built really strong relationships, which I think in the future will help me a lot.

There's a train station nearby, there's bus stops. So that was a big win for me because I liked the easy, accessible location. Southampton is a wonderful student city to be in. Some great restaurants, got the shopping centre.

You got to know your lecturer. And that hands-on approach, really benefited me. Incredible lecturers, the library is incredible, It's literally full of knowledge. They have all the industry standard software for example Capture One, all the studio spaces and Photoshop, everything in Adobe.

We have a lot of chances to practise as if we were in the work we're going into after uni. This experience has helped me in my future career being able to see the professionalism how the players communicate with the coaching staff, how the staff communicate with the players.

Today we've been shooting a video at the Watercress Line. It's nice to actually go out and put practice into action.

01:36

You can meet all kinds of people in all professions and sort of learn more about what you want to do. Solent has a really practical-led approach to helping people get into the industry they want to go in. Graduate Fashion Week is a really valuable experience because myself, along with so many other creative talents, can showcase their work that they've worked so hard on.

The belief in me from my teachers and my peers, and the respect that I've been given, has really made me feel more confident in my abilities to work in the industry.
