Sports management is such a great career to study because there's so many different pathways, whether you're interested in managing your own sports centre, whether you'd like to set up a business, or if you want to go into event organisation or sports development, there's so many different doorways and the whole point of doing a sports management degree, is once you graduate it gives you all those career pathways to follow. So what sets our Sports Management degree course apart from others, is the fact that we not only offer a traditional sports management program, but as well as that, in year two and three, you have an opportunity to progress into a different pathway if you prefer. So if you're interested in focusing on football and business, then there are specific option modules in the second and third year that you can go through, or if you're interested in looking at the wider and more diverse sport and leisure industry, we've got an outdoor and adventure pathway which gives you a number of different careers as well. What makes us unique, is that we offer a combination of traditional theory, so you study lots of different academic texts and theories and concepts all about sports management, but then you apply them in the real world, so we've got lots of different opportunities for you to undertake work placements, to liaise with guest speakers, to go on industry visits and so all that theory that you're studying, you can put into practice. We've got a network of employers that we work closely with in the community and we encourage you to try and get some paid or voluntary work experience.

The course has offered quite a lot of opportunities, just yesterday there was trip down to a sports like football centre, which was really good and really enjoyable, and then you got the opportunity to set up events like this and just gain the experience. So the facilities we've got, we've got like the sports halls like this, we've got the gym upstairs, we've got Test Park which has got like cricket, astroturf, pitches, rugby pitches, full size football pitches as well, so the facilities on offer at Solent are really high quality.
