Published annually, the QS World University Rankings is a ratings system that indexes the world's leading higher education institutions in areas such as employability, teaching, facilities and other additional categories that may not be included in 'traditional' ranking systems. Over 50 different indicators are considered and universities are scored from one to five stars plus in eight wider categories, as well as achieving an overall rating, depending on meeting criteria requirements and the number of points achieved in the evaluation.
The rankings allow prospective students to explore and compare universities by region or subject.
In 2019, Solent University was awarded four stars overall, and five stars each for employability, facilities, inclusiveness, internationalisation and teaching.
