Working in the electronics or engineering industry? Looking to take your career higher? Passionate about electronics? Solent University’s professionally accredited electronic engineering degree apprenticeship is your chance to develop your specialist skills and knowledge – and earn a degree while you work – giving your career a can help you to turn these interests into a lucrative and engaging career.

With a broad curriculum covering everything from analogue and digital electronics to contemporary embedded systems, signal processing technologies and modern communications, you will be well placed to move into a range of specialist roles – research and development, maintenance engineering, electronic design, telecommunications and much more.

In the first year, students develop a solid foundation in maths and circuitry before getting to grips with analogue, digital and microcomputer systems. The latter half of the year is focused on developing an understanding of industry software, key professional skills and manufacturing techniques.

These proficiencies will form a solid foundation for the second and third year, where you will program embedded systems and study advanced data communications, carry out your own research and undertake a major practical project tailored to your unique working environment and workplace.

Who is this course for?

The Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Degree Apprenticeship is ideally suited for staff and managers at the start or middle of their engineering career, who want to gain additional skills and knowledge in the fast moving electronics design and application area.

Facilities

Apprentices will have access to our up-to-date electronics and manufacturing laboratories, which are incorporated into practical sessions in every module. Library facilities are also available, with specialist software workstations and electronic on-site and remote book access.
