The Southampton Solent Law Clinic is a free legal service designed to support our local community. In partnership with award-winning law firm, Dutton Gregory Solicitors, we opened our doors on 11 February 2025, at our city-centre campus on East Park Terrace.
Our mission is to:
- Meet community needs through the provision of free to access legal advice.
- Enhance student skills.
- Alleviate pressure on existing public services.

How is the clinic run?
The clinic is supported by several Solent LLB (Hons) Law students, who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and a strong commitment to community service. These dedicated students volunteer their time under the expert guidance of specialist legal practitioners from Dutton Gregory.Â

The Clinic will focus on landlord and tenant law.
Schedule
The Clinic takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, from 3pm to 7pm.
Please note, the Clinic normally takes place during term time. Therefore, the Clinic will be taking a break from 4 December 2025 through to 14 January 2026.
The Clinic will resume on Thursday 15 January 2026 as normal, from 3pm to 7pm.

You may receive a call back from 5 January 2026 onwards to arrange your appointment and provide further details of of the Clinic location.
Appointments
New appointments at the Clinic will be offered from Thursday 15 January 2026.

This clinic will provide much-needed support to those who might not be able to afford the cost of solicitors.
