Unconditional Offer Scheme for September 2019 entry
This scheme is focused on applicants who can demonstrate exceptional academic performance in their schooling to date (including A-level, BTEC or equivalent), taking into consideration the views of their current institution and teachers. It provides them with an unconditional offer to continue their studies at Solent, securing a place well in advance of final results being released.
We hope that the unconditional offer will demonstrate to these applicants our confidence that they have the necessary qualities to excel through one of our degree programmes. We also hope that the unconditional offer will alleviate some of the pressure students feel at this time and enable them to focus on achieving the excellent grades that will become part of their curriculum vitae.
Which subjects are included in the scheme?
For further information on courses and disciplines included in the scheme please contact email@example.com.
What predicted grades do I need?
You will need to have a minimum 112 tariff points to be considered for the Unconditional Offer Scheme (this is the equivalent to 280 tariff points under the old system). Where a course requires a specific subject for entry then you must be predicted a high grade in that subject to qualify for the unconditional offer. Also, if the course you have applied for requires an interview/portfolio then you will still be required to attend and undertake a successful interview/portfolio assessment before an offer can be made to you.
Am I required to put Solent as my firm choice in order to get an unconditional offer?
No. The unconditional offer has no conditions and is issued directly as per the points above. Once you have received the unconditional offer, it's like any other offer, and it is up to you to decide if you would like to accept (normally referred to as firm or insurance choices) or decline the offer.
What if I'm not studying towards A-Levels?
We will consider the full range of academic qualifications as part of the scheme, including BTECs, International Baccalaureates and combinations of qualifications.
What happens if I don't get my predicted grades?
An unconditional offer demonstrates our view that an applicant is academically able and will continue to work hard to achieve their predicted grades. We will still accept applicants with an unconditional offer in the unlikely event that they do not achieve their predicted grades, although this will affect the Undergraduate Academic Merit Scholarship (UAMS) award.
What deadlines do I need to meet?
You will need to apply to the University via UCAS and accept your offer on a firm basis by 3 May 2019.
What is the Undergraduate Academic Merit Scholarship?
Students who are eligible for an unconditional offer may also qualify for an Undergraduate Academic Merit Scholarship. Find out more by following the link below.

Are unconditional offers available to international applicants?
No. This scheme is only available to home (UK and EU) students and this will be determined from the information entered on the UCAS application.
Can I defer my unconditional place to 2020?
No. We are currently only able to offer this scheme to students joining us in September 2019.
