Clearing students save most on accommodation at Solent

Rooms at the university's Chantry and Kimber halls start at £130.20 per week. Applicants who use Solent's Clearing Fast Pass receive a 20% discount, bringing the price down to £104.16 per week, the lowest rate for university-managed accommodation in the region.

Solent's Clearing team is on hand to guide this year's applicants toward the right course, with a Triple Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework and National Student Survey results placing the university among the best in Hampshire for student support and wellbeing.

Professor Cathy Barnes, pro vice-chancellor for research and academic strategy planning at Solent University, said: “Cost is one of the biggest factors students weigh up when choosing where to study, and we want to make sure that finances are not a barrier to a great university experience. Solent has always been about expanding access and offering some of the most affordable accommodation in the region is part of that commitment.”

The discounted rate is available to students who apply through Solent's Clearing Fast Pass, which guarantees applicants an offer before results day, along with a priority phone line to the Clearing team, a one-to-one chat with a current student, and a VIP tour at the Clearing open day.

Students who choose to live in Solent’s university-managed accommodation will receive £100 of IKEA vouchers, a full academic year of Gold Gym membership, and a £150 campus dining voucher.
