23 June 2026, The Spark

Join us for the Solent Learning, Teaching and Research (SLTR) Conference at the Spark, East Park Terrace campus, for an exciting day of exchange, inspiration and collaboration centred on practice-led higher education.

Through an engaging keynote speaker, interactive workshops, inspiring presentations and a dynamic exhibition, we’ll explore how practice-led approaches spark meaningful learning experiences and empower students to thrive; both within and beyond the classroom.

Watch this video of last year's conference for a taste of what to expect.

Come to connect, share and innovate

Whether you’re eager to showcase your own work, learn from others’ experiences or simply explore new ideas, the SLTR conference offers a space to celebrate creativity, collaboration and real-world impact across disciplines.

We’d love to hear from you if these questions spark your curiosity:

  • How can practice-led approaches bridge learning, industry and the ‘real’ world?
  • How can students, staff and external partners co-create inclusive, impactful learning experiences?
  • How can complex knowledge be transformed into meaningful tasks through authentic assessment and technology?
  • How can effective practice be shared, scaled and celebrated across disciplines?

Presentation and poster submissions

We're interested to hear how your practice is making or will make a difference to the diverse communities of students or staff at Solent University. We offer two routes for presenting: a poster presentation that will be part of the poster exhibition, available throughout the day; or a 15-minute full presentation with sessions taking place both morning and afternoon.

Whether you're sharing new ideas or established practice, this is a chance to connect with others, gain feedback and contribute to practice-led learning across the University.

Submission deadline: Friday 17 April 2026
